Today, I had the privilege of casting my vote in the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) elections alongside my uncle, Mubashar Us Saqib Gill. The LHCBA, one of the most influential legal fraternities in Pakistan, has been at the forefront of major judicial and constitutional movements, playing a pivotal role in shaping the legal and political landscape of the country.
Strong leadership within the Bar is essential to upholding the rule of law, defending judicial independence, and safeguarding the rights of both the legal community and the public. It was an honor to meet some of the most distinguished figures in Pakistanโs legal sphere, including my uncleโs classmates, Mr. Ahsan Bhoon and Mr. Abid Saqiโmembers of the Pakistan Bar Councilโwho, like us, hail from Hafizabad. Our city has consistently produced some of the nationโs finest legal minds and Bar leaders.
I also had the privilege of meeting Madam Sabahat Rizvi, the first elected female Secretary in the 150-year history of the LHCBA, a true trailblazer for women in law. Her leadership is a testament to the growing inclusivity and strength of our legal fraternity.
The unity and vision of the legal community remain its greatest strengths, and the leadership of the Bar plays a critical role in shaping policies, advocating for justice, and ensuring the independence of legal institutions. Wishing all candidates success in their endeavors!
