Developing Pakistan’s AI Governance Framework – AI Festival 2025

Dr. Ammar Younas had the privilege of speaking at the Opening Ceremony of AI Festival 2025, as a panelist in “AI Governance & Ethics – Developing Pakistan’s Framework.”

This was Pakistan’s first dedicated national panel on AI ethics and governance, convening prominent voices from law, technology, and public policy. Dr. Younas highlighted the need for Pakistan to formulate an AI governance model grounded in constitutional values, legal pluralism, and cultural ethics—instead of replicating imported frameworks.

He emphasized the importance of crafting a future-ready and locally attuned governance system, reflecting the country’s unique societal fabric while remaining globally responsible.

The session was organized under the Society 5.0 Initiative, which promotes ethical and indigenous approaches to innovation and policymaking.

Distinguished panelists included:

  • Justice Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer (Former Chief Justice, Federal Shariat Court)

  • Justice Mushir Alam (Retd)
